Answers about tile installation, preparation and planning. Does electric in-floor heating require an ESA notification? Yes, the electrical work and required notification or inspection must be handled by the appropriate Licensed Electrical Contractor. We coordinate the tile work with that requirement after booking. Who connects a heated floor thermostat? A Licensed Electrical Contractor handles the circuit, thermostat and electrical connections. Your written estimate will make the tile work and electrical responsibilities clear. How is the heating cable protected during tile work? We follow the selected system's installation and testing requirements while completing the tile work. The electrician remains responsible for the electrical connections and required inspection. Can floor warming go inside a shower? Only when the specific listed system, waterproofing assembly, electrical design and manufacturer instructions permit that use.
